Recordista de títulos nacionais é vice-campeão no MTA World Vet Motocross Championship em Glen Helen

O MTA World Vet Motocross Championship reúne anualmente na tradicional pista de Glen Helen, nos Estados Unidos, pilotos veteranos de todo o Mundo. Neste fim de semana, dias 2 e 3, o catarinense Milton 'Chumbinho' Becker, recordista de títulos nacionais da modalidade, disputou a competição. O experiente piloto de 46 anos da equipe Pro Tork disputou duas categorias: Over 40 Expert e Over 45 Expert.
No primeiro dia de evento, ainda se ambientando com o circuito e com a competição, Chumbinho foi o quinto colocado na 45 Expert e o sexto na 40 Expert. O destaque de sábado foi a vitória do brasileiro na segunda bateria da 40 Expert. No domingo, o veterano piloto da equipe Pro Tork disputou quatro baterias e conquistou excelentes resultados. Mostrando garra, o representante do Brasil completou todas as corridas na segunda colocação e terminou o Mundial de Veteranos como vice-campeão das duas classes.
"Tudo foi novidade, difícil mesmo. Estou feliz com o resultado e certo de que posso ser campeão no ano que vem", afirmou o dono de 19 títulos nacionais.
Entre as diversas categorias divididas por faixas etárias nas divisões Novice, Intermediate e Expert, foram realizadas também as corridas da Over 30 Pro e da Over 40 Pro, as principais da competição. Nelas, os destaques foram Travis Preston, campeão entre os trintões, e Doug Dubach, campeão entre os quarentões e recordista da competição com 22 títulos conquistados. Dubach também dominou na edição deste ano a classe Over 50 Expert.

O fluminense Walter Tardin competiu entre os principais pilotos na faixa dos quarenta anos. O brasileiro teve como melhor resultado a 12ª colocação na primeira bateria e terminou o evento com a 21ª posição geral da categoria Over 40 Pro.
