Pista de Anaheim no Angel Stadium
Ken Roczen foi o mais rápido durante as tomadas de tempo da abertura do AMA Supercross 2017. O alemão bateu no segundo treino a marca de Eli Tomac, que fez sua melhor volta na primeira sessão. A diferença entre os dois foi de apenas 0,1 segundo. Justin Barcia e Jason Anderson quase empataram na terceira e quarta posições. Marvin Musquin, vencedor
da enquete entre os leitores do MotoX, foi o quinto mais rápido.

Na classe 250 Oeste, Justin Hill foi o mais rápido com um tempo que o colocaria entre os cinco primeiros na 450. O brasileiro Jean Ramos foi segundo e terceiro nas baterias do Grupo B. Na combinação dos resultados ele ficou com o 21º tempo. As provas classificatórias começam a partir de 1h05 da manhã (horário de Brasília) e as finais a partir das 2h50m.
